Oppo unveils flagship Find X smartphone; India launch on July 12

But hey, maybe you won't worry about that when you find out that the AI will also make your selfies better! The Oppo phone comes with a slider that carries three camera modules.

With that being said, one big plus with the Find X is that Oppo has finally deemed the United States worthy to receive its phones.

The phone has ditched the conventional fingerprint sensor and uses 3D Structured Light-based face recognition technology called O-Face Recognition.

Oppo Find X has a maximised screen space with no notch and a whopping 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio.

This feature on the Find X gives it an edge over other phones with traditional camera placement. The only variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage which can be expanded further.

In regards to specs the Find X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Ronaldo's Portugal kick out Morocco from World Cup
Portugal earned a narrow 1-0 win over Morocco on Wednesday, after Cristiano Ronaldo's early header proved to be the difference. Portugal now has four points and leads Group B ahead of the late match between Iran and Spain.

The Find X has a mechanized sliding tray that houses a 16 + 20MP dual-camera setup for the back and a single 25MP selfie shooter for the front. Instead you get a vertical stack of lenses with a 12MP (f/1.8) primary camera above a 5MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) support.

The Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition is a much premium offering, launched with a much higher price tag of 1,699 Euros (approximately Rs 1,33,000). But on the Oppo Find X, the phone's entire top side basically slides out, which appears to me to be the more elegant and aesthetically pleasing solution.

The Find X will sell globally in August, unlike past Oppo devices, which have been limited to Asia. There's Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo's ColorOS custom skin on top which still functions and looks a lot like Apple's iOS. A stylish and premium Lamborghini edition of the smartphone will also be released but it is going to be more expensive than the regular version as it will cost 1,699 Euros, or $1967 United States dollars.

What do you think of the Oppo Find X's design? Oppo is calling them "Bordeaux Red" and "Glacier Blue", and saying they shimmer like a "precious gemstone". As noted above Oppo says this is 20 times more secure than using a fingerprint sensor for a device unlock, and there's no need to add smudges to your device.

This edition of the phone will also have 512GB of onboard storage. However, for people willing to take that chance, the Oppo Find X does look like quite a spectacular phone.

Oppo also announced the Find X Lamborgini Edition, with faster Super VOOC charging. It also carries Huawei-inspired AI-enhanced object and scene detection feature that tweaks camera settings automatically. Fast charging tech like VOOC might do the trick while we wait for the holy grail of battery charging: Fast, long-distance, wireless charging.
