SpaceX goes for its 11th launch of the year early on Monday

This flight will use Falcon 9 first stage rocket that first launched the US Air Force's X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle on its fifth mission, last September.

Monday's launch attempt will try to send the 5.4-ton SES-12 communications satellite to a high transfer orbit.

The National Weather Service had predicted decent weather for the launch with only a 20 percent chance of rain, with gusts as high as 18 to 20 miles per hour and sky cover of about 50 percent in the Titusville area. The client there was the satellite operator SES, with the payload being set to deliver TV and data services to customers in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. The booster then came back to Earth for a pinpoint landing shortly after that liftoff, but won't do this for the SES-12 mission.

He said the company 'had to assess the workability of the legislation as a global business with multiple worldwide sites'. Australian users weren't happy with their government's decision, and are calling the GST as the "Amazon tax".

The Falcon 9 rocket soared off Launch Complex 40 at 12:45 a.m.; the launch was delayed 16 minutes because of gusty winds. Musk has expressed a desire to re-fly Falcon 9 second stages as well, but SpaceX has not tried to recover an upper stage during an orbital launch to date.

The company has now re-flown Falcon 9 first stages 13 times and landed the boosters on more than two dozen occasions. Operating under such heavy reuse is the breakthrough expected to slash the cost of spaceflight, helping more lofty space exploration goals to be financially feasible, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk has said.
