Meghan Markle's father recovering after heart surgery

Markle Sr. has reportedly said he is scheduled to undergo major heart surgery today to clear a blockage and fix damage to his heart, which occurred after he reportedly suffered a heart attack last week.

Her mother, Doria Ragland, is traveling from Los Angeles to England for the wedding and is scheduled to ride with her daughter to St. George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle before the ceremony.

Britain's Sun newspaper, the country's best selling, had to scramble to update its front page to reflect what it called the "Royal Sensation" of Thomas Markle's absence under the headline: "I've got heart op today". But the same website said on Tuesday he had changed his mind and would go to be part of history.

He told TMZ he is "OK", although it will take a "long time to heal".

In the video, Samantha appears to be sitting in her auto, chatting via video call with TMZ, who asks why she's not honoring Meghan's wishes to stay out of headlines.

Kensington Palace has said that the brothers will greet people gathered in the castle precincts, before entering the church. Samantha Markle later confessed that she had suggested Markle Sr. pose for the photos.

The pictures - in which he was being measured for a suit and admiring a photo of the future royal couple on his computer - sold for $100,000 (83,000 euros), according to British tabloid the Daily Mirror.
