Former Mizzou star Aldon Smith involved in domestic violence incident

The latest of those issues came on Saturday, when the San Francisco Police Department issue a statement saying they were in search of Smith, who "fled the scene" of reported domestic violence.

Last year, Smith was detained for "public intoxication" after a auto crash with an unmarked police vehicle.

Due to his extensive legal issues, and three resulting suspensions, Smith has not played a full season since 2013 and has not competed in an National Football League game since November 15, 2015.

"I'm scared for his life with his addiction", his fiancee told TMZ before she and her parents helped Smith get treatment at a rehab facility. "I cannot comment on the altercation, but I can tell you I love him and [am] so happy he turned to my family who considers him family, and hopefully he gets the help he truly needs", Smith's fiancée said. Through his first three seasons, Smith had 42 sacks in 43 regular-season games. He's accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend in a domestic violence incident and leaving the scene.

In an effort to find him, San Francisco police asked Smith to reach out to investigators. Police said several shots were fired, two partygoers were injured, and Smith was stabbed. Smith allegedly left the home before officers arrived.

Those were only the beginning of Smith's legal troubles, with the ensuring years seeing another DUI arrest, a bomb threat at LAX and yet another DUI arrest.

He applied for reinstatement for 2016 but still has not been cleared to play.
