Indian Mujahideen terrorist arrested after police got leads from interrogations

Khan was one of the militants who escaped from Delhi's Batla House, where an encounter on 19 September, 2008, killed two Indian Mujahideen terrorists. During the Batla House shootout, Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma was killed and awarded the Ashok Chakra in 2009.

Kushwaha added that Khan was an expert bomb maker, conspirator and executioner.

According to the police, Ariz Khan alias Junaid alias Salim Sir was apprehended from the Banbasa area of Uttarakhand, bordering Nepal, at around 1720 hours, based on a tip-off regarding his arrival at the place to meet some of his contacts.
