MEA Summons Pakistan High Commissioner Over Frequent Ceasefire Violations

After number of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC and global border, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Haider Shah was summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs, today.

Later in the day, India summoned Pakistan de-puty High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah and conveyed "grave concerns" at the continued ceasefire violations and deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by the Pakistan forces.

During the meeting, he was told that Pakistan should adhere to the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding for maintaining peace and tranquillity along the Line of Control and the International Boundary.

So far, more than 100 such ceasefire violations have been carried out by Pakistan in 2018. On Monday Pakistan said four of its soldiers were killed during Indian firing along the heavily militarized Line of Control, the disputed section of the border in southern Kashmir.
