Trump camp seeks Supreme Court appeal of 'Dreamer' immigrant ruling

"It defies both law and common sense for DACA-an entirely discretionary non-enforcement policy that was implemented unilaterally by the last administration after Congress rejected similar legislative proposals and courts invalidated the similar DAPA policy - to somehow be mandated nationwide by a single district court in San Francisco", Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement Tuesday.

In any sport there's going to be criticism. "That's how you feel when you're on (defense) and you feel like we lead this team". The Falcons , of course, memorably blew a 28-3 second-half lead to the Patriots in last year's Super Bowl .

Angelica Prisciliano stands with a megaphone as she address a large crowd that stood chanting outside of the office of Cory Gardner, a Republican United States Senator, as the crowd showed their support of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. "The Department also intends later this week to take the rare step of filing a petition for a writ of certiorari before judgment, seeking direct review in the Supreme Court".

The ruling in the District Court for the Northern District of California blocks the Trump Administration's rescission of DACA while the underlying case continues. Democrats had insisted that the new spending bill, due by Friday, must also grant full legal status to illegal immigrant "Dreamers", many of whom have been protected by the DACA program. In September, Trump said he would end DACA in six months.

The Court determined the merits of California's case are strong, and that there would be immediate harm if the Administration's plan to terminate DACA were to proceed, and that the public interest is served by prohibiting the Administration from ending DACA before the legal issues are ruled on.

The DACA program would extend protections and work permits to some people who entered the USA illegally as children. The judge reached back to 's campaign comments about migrants from Mexico to conclude the president had racial animus toward Hispanics, and so the decision - even though it was made officially by the Homeland Security Department and not the president - was illegal. A variety of Democratic state attorneys general, organizations and individuals challenged Trump's action in multiple federal courts.
