At least three people have been killed after a gunman opened fire at a Coptic Christian church in Egypt.
The Islamic State asserted responsibility for Friday's assault.
Two police officers were among those killed, reports said.
The Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, condemned firmly on Saturday the "heinous terror attack" on the church in Helwan city, southern Cairo, on Friday. A suicide vest or explosive belt was found on the dead attacker, indicating a far more devastating atrocity was planned.
