Facebook releases snooze button to mute people for 30 days

A new feature being rolled out by Facebook could help with that. "It turns out, you're not alone", wrote Shruthi Muraleedharan, Facebook Product Manager, in a blogpost.

Facebook has launched a feature to let you temporarily hide annoying friends from your newsfeed.

Facebook is one of those places where sometimes we feel bad for unfriending people, even if their posts annoy us.

The site has introduced a new "snooze button" letting you temporarily unfollow a person, page or group for thirty days.

Influenza now "prevalent" in New York State, state health commissioner says
An increasing trend in flu-related hospitalizations playing out early in the 2017-18 flu season is being seen in Fairfield County. Studies of pregnant women who get the flu shot have also shown it can reduce their newborns' risk of catching the flu by half.

Facebook will no longer pay publishers to create Facebook Live videos
However, Facebook released a statement of "News Feed values" emphasising that posts from friends and family would come first. The social networking company has announced some changes to video distribution and monetization on its platform.

Effectiveness of flu shot Is 60%
All more the reason, health officials said, to get the flu shot ahead of the holiday season to protect you and the ones you love. She said she wasn't feeling very well and came to the new Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care Unit to see Dr.

If you're exhausted of putting up with a particular person, group or page for a while, just click the menu in the upper right-hand corner of their latest post and click "Snooze" and you won't see anything from them for 30 days. "Snoozing" can be reversed at any time, as well as restarted.

Facebook is now rolling out its Snooze feature to all users after a period of testing in September.

Users can mute people, pages or groups. As cynical as it might sound, adding something like a Snooze button allows people to better create an environment where you can silence dissenters and make it so you only interact with people that like the stuff you do, that think like you do.

Facebook, in a separate post Friday by David Ginsberg, the company's director of research, and Moira Burke, a research scientist at the company, listed the new Snooze feature as one of several tools the social network offers to make its news feeds more healthy and meaningful. In fact, Twitter has it since 2014. Facebook claims social media is fine, but many people aren't using it right. We've heard from people that they want more options to determine what they see in News Feed and when they see it. However, some researchers posited that reading about others over the Internet may compel them to compare themselves to others, thereby, getting a negative feeling about it.
