Visa-Free entry to South Korea for three Southeast countries

During Saturday's summit, Moon and Xi also agreed to quickly normalise bilateral exchanges in all sectors, reiterating an agreement announced last month to end a year-long standoff over the deployment of a U.S. anti-missile system.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Wednesday that his country will greatly improve its relations with Indonesia and other Southeast Asian nations, calling them important partners in the country's endeavor to expand its global leadership.

The two leaders last met in July in Berlin, on the sidelines of the Group of 20, or G-20, summit.

At the meeting, the two countries agreed to deepen their cooperation on North Korea and to hold a trilateral summit with South Korea at the earliest possible date. Moon was the second leader Xi held bilateral talks with that day, following Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, and followed by the leaders of Japan and the Philippines.

Moon has insisted only the strongest pressure and sanctions against the communist state will force the North to give up its nuclear ambition.

The leaders also agreed to continue their discussions next month when the South Korean president will make a trip to China for their third bilateral summit, according to Cheong Wa Dae.

Moon's visit to Indonesia is his first to Southeast Asia since taking office. At the forum, Moon said that his country wanted to boost economic ties with Indonesia.

The report said the Chinese president also remarketed that China-South Korea relations are at a critical point.

South Korea attaches importance to China's concern on the THAAD issue, and has no intention to harm China's interests of strategic security, he said.

On Sunday, Moon will head to Manila for the East Asia Summit.
