7.2 magnitude natural disaster rocks northern Iraq

At least four people died and dozens were wounded in Iraq, according to the Kurdistan Regional Government's Health Minister Rekawt Hama Rasheed.

Earlier reports suggested that the quake's magnitude stood at 7.5.

Iranian provinces in the northwestern, western and central areas of the country were impacted.

But eight villages were damaged in Iran and at least six people were killed and many others injured in the border town of Qasr-e Shirin in Iran, Iranian state TV said.

Faramarz Akbari, a local official in the Iranian border city of Ghasr-e Shirin, reported the death toll to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency.
