Donald Trump Is Blaming Jared Kushner For The Mueller Investigation

The press has reported that when Bannon served in the White House he was involved in deliberations regarding the Comey firing and the Russian Federation investigation.

Mr Nunberg said: "Here's what Manafort's indictment tells me: Mueller is going to go over every financial dealing of Jared Kushner and the Trump Organisation". And they have yet to learn the historical lesson from past presidential investigations, which is that it isn't the crime that gets them, it's the attempt to cover it up.

However, it was not clear how Kushner's advice to the President might relate to the overall Russian Federation investigation or potential obstruction of justice, the sources said.

The 36-year-old voluntarily turned over documents from the campaign and from the transition, which were similar to ones he had given congressional investigators earlier this year.

Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 USA election - and whether Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow to influence the outcome - led to the indictments on Monday of Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and Manafort's past business associate Rick Gates. He would be among a list of people the investigators would be asking about, the source said.

The question of whether - or just how much - Kushner influenced the President's decision to fire Comey is a matter of dispute among those in Trump's orbit. "The walls are closing in", one senior Republican close to the White House told the "New York Post". Trump's lawyer Ty Cobb has been advocating the view that playing ball will lead to a quick resolution (Cobb did not respond to a request for comment).

The Independent is reporting on claims the US President is "turning" on his Senior White House Advisor in the wake of indictments being issued for two of his former employees. Comey had been overseeing the Russian Federation investigation at the FBI, leading to questions about whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice by firing him.

Manafort, 68, and business partner Rick Gates, 45, both entered not guilty pleas in a Washington court after being read charges that they hid millions of dollars they earned working for former Ukrainian politician Viktor Yanukovych and his pro-Moscow political party.

Kushner was also under scrutiny for meetings with Russia's ambassador to the USA and a Russian banker, and for failing to list hundreds of meetings with foreign contacts on his security clearance forms, which he blamed on an assistant.
