Attention Dickheads, You'll Soon Officially Be Banned From Climbing Uluru

From 2019 visitors to Uluru won't be allowed to climb the iconic landmark rock in Australia, traditional owners have decided.

The traditional owners of Uluru, the Anangu people, have called for the climb to be closed since 1985, when the park was placed in indigenous hands.

"There are so many other smaller places that still have cultural significance that we can share publicly", Wilson said.

Australia's world-famous Uluru, formerly known as Ayers Rock, will be closed to climbers from 2019.

'The traditional owners of the rock have had concerns over the years, ' he said.

"It is an extremely important place, not a playground or theme park like Disneyland."
We want you to come, hear us, and learn. "We are not stopping tourists, just this activity".

" 'Over the years Anangu have felt a sense of intimidation, as if someone is holding a gun to our heads to keep it open".

Buffalo Bills acquire Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin
The Bills' wide receiver corps has struggled to make an impact this year after trading Sammy Watkins during training camp. Benjamin is the team's leading receiver with 475 yards and two touchdowns on 32 catches with the Panthers this season.

"Please don't hold us to ransom".

In a statement from the park board, Wilson said the decision was something to "feel proud about".

The red monolith is in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, near Alice Springs, 1,300 miles north west of Sydney. However, the park's board has been unable to vote on a formal ban until now due to an agreement that required the number of visitors making the climb to drop below 20 percent before a ban was considered.

Tourism Central Australia said it supported the decision, pointing out that the public could still access much of the site.

"They are very thoughtful about these matters and know a great deal about the economics around the rock", he told Sky News.

Beginning on October 26, 2019, climbing Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock) will be prohibited.

Around 300,000 people visit each year, with Australians and then Japanese most likely to climb.
