Taliban says freed hostage's allegations of rape and murder are false

A Taliban spokesman has rejected as "false and propaganda" the allegations of rescued Canadian hostage Joshua Boyle that his child was murdered and his wife raped during his captivity in Afghanistan.

"No one has either intentionally murdered the child of this couple and neither has anyone violated or defiled them", said the statement.

A Canadian man who was freed along with his family after five years in militant captivity in Afghanistan said his captors authorized the killing of one of his children and raped his wife.

He added that Boyle was now in the hands of "the enemy" and can be pressured into say anything.

Boyle and his American wife Caitlan Coleman were seized by the Taliban while hiking in Afghanistan in 2012, and then turned over to the group's affiliated militant Haqqani network in Pakistan.

Ms. Coleman was pregnant when the couple has begun its journey in Afghanistan with the intention to help the populations of the regions under the control of the taliban, explained Mr Boyle.

The family was rescued by Pakistani security forces after they received a tip-off from United States intelligence, which they hoped would show they were willing to work together after previously being criticised by America for not doing enough to tackle terrorism.

Removed in October 2012, the family was detained by the terrorist network Haqqani, linked to the taliban and close to the military intelligence of pakistan.

He wrote: 'God has given me and my family unparalleled resilience and determination, and to allow that to stagnate, to pursue personal pleasure or comfort while there is still deliberate and organised injustice in the world would be a betrayal of all I believe, and tantamount to sacrilege'.

"Taking your pregnant wife to a very risky place to me and the kind of person that I am is unconscionable", Jim Coleman, father of Caitlan Coleman said. Boyle told his parents that he, his wife and their children were intercepted by Pakistani forces while being transported in the back or trunk of their captors' vehicle and that some of his captors were killed.

The family returned to Boyle's parents" home in Smith Falls, Ontario, which he called "the first true "home' that the children have ever known - after they spent most of Friday asking if each subsequent airport was our new house hopefully".

His family said some of his captors were killed and Mr Boyle suffered a shrapnel wound.

A senior official had said Boyle refused to board an American military plane on Thursday over concerns he could face arrest.

Officials have dismissed any link between his previous marriage and the family's capture, with one official describing it in 2014 as a 'horrible coincidence'.

It was "revenge" for his "repeated refusal" to accept the proposals which he had network, said Mr. Boyle.

The U.S. Justice Department said neither Boyle nor Coleman is wanted for any federal crime.
