Titans taking it 'day by day' with Marcus Mariota

The Tennessee Titans signed quarterback Brandon Weeden to a one-year contract.

The Titans will have plans for Mariota and backup quarterback Matt Cassel this week.

Coach Mike Mularkey said on Monday that the test showed a hamstring strain for Mariota and they are considering him day-to-day in terms of a timeline for a return to action.

Weeden has previously played for the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. The 22nd pick overall in 2012, Weeden has started for Cleveland, Dallas and Houston; the Texans released him September 2 in their final cuts. Titans fans and Mariota fantasy owners were treated to an emotional rollercoaster in this game with the quarterback throwing two picks and rushing for two scores before hurting his hamstring.
