Darren Sproles has torn ACL on top of broken arm, report says

Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles tore an ACL and broke an arm on the same play Sunday, coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday. Later in the season, he'll have corrective surgery on his knee.

Quarterback Carson Wentz will also miss Sproles in the passing game, after Sproles had made seven catches for 73 yards in just over 9 quarters of football to open the 2017 regular season.

Sproles was injured in the first half against the New York Giants following an awkward plant and hit from safety Darian Thompson.

Sproles will reportedly have arm surgery on Monday, and his knee will require surgery later on. Thompson stands at 6 foot 1 and 213 pounds.

"I feel like [after 2017] it will be time".

That's old for a guy like him, but after being so close to 20,000 all-purpose yards, and thirsty for a ring, perhaps he'll give the right contender a shot next season. The situation makes touches available to LeGarrette Blount, Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement.
