Sixers players react to news of JJ Redick deal

The Timberwolves' pursuit of free agent J.J. Redick came to an end Saturday when ESPN reported the shooting guard agreed to a one-year, $23 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

"Trust the process", he tweeted. He shot.429 percent from beyond the arc for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. However, as free agency approached it became increasingly clear that Redick was not in the Clippers' plans and that he was no longer interested in them. Chris Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets. Redick is looking to nail down a new contract somewhere other than with the L.A. Clippers and he is getting plenty of interest from different teams.

International Monetary Fund cuts U.S. growth forecasts, cites Trump fiscal plan uncertainty

Since Redick entered the league, only five players - Stephen Curry, J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson and Jason Terry - have made more 3-pointers than the former Duke sharpshooter. Redick was the type of shooter the Wolves covet.

Redick also took to Twitter to indicate he's heading to Philly. The maximum contract, which can not be signed until the NBA's moratorium is lifted on July 6, will pay Griffin $173 million over five season. After building up a talented young core with the likes of Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and rookie Markelle Fultz, the Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly added a top-end free agent. The sharp-shooting guard averaged 15.0 points per game while appearing in 78 contests and Redick converted 42.9 percent of his three-point attempts.
