Sensational Cilic sets up Lopez final at Queens

Marin Cilic faces a Queen's Club semi-final showdown with Gilles Muller, while Feliciano Lopez eyes revenge against Grigor Dimitrov in the other last four clash at the Wimbledon warm-up event.

Cilic failed to convert his opportunities in the second set, however, and one lapse of concentration at 5-6 blotted his copybook to allow Muller to snatch the second set. Dimitrov levelled things up after saving a break point early on in following set before taking Lopez's serve in the eighth game and then holding on to his serve.

Muller, who ousted fifth seed French player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in the last round, is set to play against the victor of Croatian Marin Cilic and American Donald Young.

The two-time former quarterfinalist was comfortable at 40-15 but Muller became unstuck as the American created his first break point in the match on Muller's serve, which happened to be a set point with a sweet backhand return victor down the line.

He won 50 of his 51 first-serve points during his first two rounds at Queen's - either with unreturnable deliveries or, when the ball did come back, punishing forehands.

Marin Cilic and Feliciano Lopez will contest Sunday's final of the Aegon Championships at Queen's. Lopez has also beens harp with his serve and is coming off a match in which he lost just six first serve points.

Muller, however, managed to find a slight chink in Cilic's armor when he put the Croatian into a 0-40 hole - the first break points all week against his serve.

The Croatian, ranked No.7 on the ATP Tour, moved into his third career final at Queen's, but first since 2013.

"I'm very happy to be here in the final because it's one of my most special tournaments", Lopez said.

In the final, the Czech leftie will play Ashleigh Barty, an Australian who was impressive in containing former French Open champion Garbine Muguruza 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

"I'm being a little bit more motivated, and that is driving me a little bit more to be aggressive on the court, which is extremely important in my own sense", Cilic said.

"It's tough to believe at 35 that I'm playing my best tennis, but I am".

The match was worthy of any final after a fantastic display from both men ahead of the start of Wimbledon.

Lopez is in as good a form as he's been in his career I would say, the way he's hitting the ball.

If he is not to fall short for a second time, however, he will have to produce his best tennis again a fired-up Cilic who overcame Luxembourg's in-form Gilles Muller.
