Ubisoft unveils Starlink video game with toys that attach to your controller

A new "toys to life" title from Ubisoft has been announced and it's heading to Nintendo Switch.

In Starlink, players will pilot interstellar starships as they fight the Forgotten Legion, an evil race of robots threatening existence.

The game is built within the Snowdrop engine, which allowed the developers to enable seamless travel through and around the Starlink: Battle for Atlas's exotic worlds, which are all filled with unique lifeforms and their own unique challenges.

Ships come with hardpoints that players can attach weapons to at any time, swapping them out mid-battle, and the game will adjust accordingly. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is expected to arrive in the autumn of 2018. Then you can change the parts on the spaceship, and those changes show up in the game on the fly.

Mix and match pilots, hulls, wings, and weapons to assemble your ideal starship with an unprecedented level of customization and creativity. Each part attached to the starship appears instantly in-game and players can experiment with different pilot abilities, weapon types and status effects and unleash devastating combos upon their enemies. The world evolves depending on your actions and your choices. Starlink: Battle for Atlas releases in the fall of 2018 for the Xbox One X, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
