Cavs ignore last year's comeback after another 0-2 hole

The Golden State Warriors now lead the defending-champion Cleveland Cavaliers 2-0 in the 2017 NBA Finals. Game 3 will be held in OH on Wednesday. He was the clear loser in the battle of superstars as four-time MVP LeBron James dominated the final three games, including a block of a Curry layup at one point followed by some serious trash talking.

LeBron James scored 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds, all on the defensive end, but also gave up four turnovers.

A 3-pointer by Kyrie Irving kept the Cavaliers within 108-97 with 8:41 to go before Thompson, who shot 3-for-16 in Game 1, ignited the game-breaking run with a 3-pointer.

James huffed and puffed for the Cavaliers, but he was unable to prevent consecutive defeats in Oakland in front of Barcelona star Neymar, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Cavaliers small forward James, 32, made 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists to draw level with Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson on eight post-season triple-doubles.

Kevin Love scored 27 points and Cavs team-mate recorded 19 of his own.

The Warriors have not lost in the postseason since their three straight setbacks against the Cavaliers in Games 5-7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. It's not hyperbole that has folks comparing them to the best teams in National Basketball Association history and wondering what sort of dynasty this team could form moving forward with this talented, unselfish core able to be secured in place for years to come.

The Cavs did a much better job of taking care of the ball as they committed just nine turnovers to the Warriors' 20, but they have to find a way to find a way to keep the Warriors under 120 points to even have a chance.

"That's what everyone wants to see, some of the best players in the world go against each other", Klay Thompson said.

There's zero point in harping on the no-call-the Warriors thoroughly outplayed every non-LeBron Cav, and one play was not going to swing this game. I get in a a lot of extra work in between games and on off days.

"I'm feeling better", Kerr told reporters after the Warriors eased to a 2-0 series lead against the defending champion Cavaliers in a repeat of the last two NBA Finals.

On that third-quarter drive, James had little help as Love got there late.

"I'm not going to take a step back", Kevin Durant said.

"It felt great. Got a really nice reception from our fans and our players", Kerr said.

Kyrie Irving scored 24 points in the opener and Love had a big day in Game 2, but starters Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith have been almost invisible and the bench has offered little help.

As the Warriors insisted their focus would not relent, the Cavaliers drew on their experience previous year. We saw what happened previous year. It would be a mistake to dismiss Cleveland.

In Game 3 past year, the Cavaliers rebounded in front of an emotional home crowd - "we got back to playing our game", LeBron said, after two games of everyone telling him and his team they were awful - and all of a sudden, Steve Kerr was saying his team played soft ("They just punched us right in the mouth") and Curry was already getting exhausted by questions speculating that he was hurt.
