Top Trump aide exiting: First shoe to drop in wider shuffle?

I once wrote that he was the only one of President Trump's close advisers who couldn't be fired, but Kushner's father-in-law would be smart to prove me wrong.

"Whenever you see the words "sources say" in the fake news media, and they don't mention names", Trump tweeted Sunday amid a morning rant, "it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers".

Last week national media broke reports that President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, may have had inappropriate contact with Russian officials during the presidential transition period.

Mr Trump's National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said that generally speaking, "we have back-channel communication with a number of countries".

And the fact that we know that Kushner isn't exactly the most beloved figure in the White House, having already had a very public run-in with senior strategist Steve Bannon back in April.

In his first briefing since President Trump returned from his nine-day worldwide trip, White House press secretary Sean Spicer was looking to highlight the trip's successes.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer calls on a member of the media during the daily press briefing at the White House, Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Washington.

Numerous video clips have been found with Trump railing about Clinton's carelessness with classified information, that she was therefore not fit to be president for that very reason and that he would carefully keep the nation's secrets secret.

Pressed for another example, Spicer said he "didn't come here with a list of things".

A top White House communications staffer has resigned as President Donald Trump considers overhauling his White House staff over frustrations that his team is struggling to contain the burgeoning crisis involving alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

"Kushner and Russia's ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump's transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring", they reported.

NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER H.R. MCMASTER, on Mr Jared Kushner's alleged proposal to the Russians to create a secret channel out of the reach of USA spymasters.

Fresh off Trump's first official trip overseas, his administration is looking for ways to respond more aggressively to allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and revelations of possible ties between Trump's campaign and Moscow.

Moscow has denied USA intelligence agencies' conclusion that it meddled in the campaign to try to tilt the election in Trump's favor. The Post reported that the FBI, which is in the midst of an ongoing investigation into Russian Federation meddling into the 2016 election and the possibility of collusion with some elements of the Trump campaign found that meeting to be of "investigative interest".

I guess if he's gonna go out, might as well on his own terms.

He said the other potential problem would be if Kushner did not disclose meetings with Russian officials during the FBI's background check.

On the latter, the press secretary couldn't say whether Trump believes human behavior contributes to the warming of the climate.
