Iran must never have nuclear weapons: Trump tells Netanyahu

"The Trump administration is focused on materially enhancing the quality of life and the economy for the Palestinians", said Michael Oren, a parliament member and former Israeli ambassador to the U.S., who now serves as an adviser at the prime minister's office. We're sticking with Washington, D.C. But that recognition is not reciprocated. This was an apparent North Atlantic Treaty Organisation priority, but it also underlined the new US president's view of Islam and democracy by choosing Turkey, a country which enjoys secularism guaranteed by its constitution. Israel captured the Western Wall area 50 years ago in an area of the city that's still disputed, and the USA didn't want to be seen as endorsing Israeli sovereignty there.

"Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, that I can tell you". It's fine, everything's great, look at them, holding hands like professional hand-holders who love to hold hands. "It was a staggering campaign promise".

Some Israeli officials were on edge after Trump allegedly disclosed highly classified intelligence gathered by Israeli officials to Russian officials.

"This is in the West Bank".

Trump has repeatedly underscored USA support for Israel during his first worldwide trip as president.

EDITOR'S NOTE - Julie Pace has covered the White House and politics since 2007.

Still, the presidential visit is rich with symbolism, speaking volumes to followers of Middle East politics.

Dogged by multiple scandals back home, Trump was celebrated Monday throughout his visit to Jerusalem.

He also visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Christians believe Jesus Christ was crucified and later resurrected.

Netanyahu played down what has appeared to be a violation of an intelligence-sharing agreement with his country, saying U.S. And, at a White House press conference in February with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump himself expressed ambivalence about Palestinian statehood. But there were some uncomfortable moments surrounding the trip. Trump sought to rebut claims that he had damaged Israeli intelligence capabilities by revealing highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister earlier this month.

But according to Gary Neville, Jose Mourinho has enjoyed an even better Chelsea team than the one now being overseen by Conte. A 4-0 win over West Brom in their third game saw Chelsea to the summit and again, they were not to be budged.

"Just so you understand, I never mentioned the word or the name Israel", Trump said ahead of a bilateral session with Netanyahu.

Netanyahu dismissed reports that the government was concerned.

"The wall is part of Jerusalem", he said, declaring an undeniable fact accepted by all sides. "It's never been better".

The two also talked about confronting Iran. Trump accused former President Barack Obama of strengthening Iran's capabilities. "We won't allow them to do so and we will do whatever we can to defend Jerusalem". And we also gave them an ability to continue with terror.

"We have before us a rare opportunity to bring security and stability and peace to this region and to its people", Trump said in a ceremony after he landed at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.

Still, Trump's popularity among Israelis has dropped significantly since he took office in January.

Or does it? The White House last week published a map of Trump's tour in a video which infuriated Israelis by showing the nation's pre-1967 borders, excluding East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Golan Heights, and the Gaza strip.

During planning for Trump's visit, an American diplomat told Israeli officials that they weren't welcome to accompany Trump to the wall because it was in Palestinian territory - prompting an uproar in Israel.

Morton Klein, the ZOA president, said in a statement that the slowness to move the embassy "sends a message of weakness" and called it "painful".

Oren knew of no parallels in history where one of two countries as closely aligned as the United States and Israel has refused to recognize the other's capital. "Think about how upsetting to us it is that the USA doesn't recognize Jerusalem as our capital".
