Hamilton takes the victory at the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix

He just rushed near Vettel as he was standing at one place.

Mr. Hamilton finished the 66-lap race 3.5 secs ahead of the 4X champion Mr. Vettel, roaring past him to regain the lead after 44 laps.

The pair shared light-hearted exchanges in the post-race FIA press conference with Hamilton basking in his Spanish Grand Prix victory having passed Vettel thanks to his mirrored Mercedes strategy to be on faster tyres at the finish.

Mercedes' British driver Lewis Hamilton celebrates on the podium after the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmelo on the outskirts of Barcelona on May 14, 2017.

"We lost four seconds", the Ferrari driver said.

"I think it's dependent on what kind of race you have", he said when questioned on his heavy breathing.

"On track I didn't want him to win today, I wanted to win". A win would then be the best Ferrari could do to minimize the points loss to Mercedes, but doing this with a driver down-and thus fewer strategy options-would prove hard.

"It's been a really good weekend and a great way to bounce back from Russian Federation", said Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton won for the second time in the 2017 Formula 1 season Sunday to close the gap in the drivers' championship to just six points after five rounds.

He played a role in Mr Nixon's successful campaign, as well as for other Republican presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush Snr. That execution turned Fox News into Murdoch's most valuable asset, a cash cow valued at more than $15B.

"To have that close battle with him, with a four-time champ, is awesome", Hamilton, himself a three-time champion, said about Vettel.

Danish driver Kevin Magnussen seemed certain of finishing 10th, to give the Haas team the final championship point, but he retired with a puncture on the last lap, and teammate Romain Grosjean took 10th. As a result, Vettel came out of the pit lane side-by-side with Hamilton instead of eight seconds ahead. Following Vettel and Hamilton were Kimi Raikkonen, Max Verstappen and Bottas as they tried to enter together in the first corner.

Moments after Bottas saw his hopes of adding to a maiden win in the previous round go up in smoke, Hamilton closed in on Vettel on his faster tires and never looked back after blowing by on lap 43.

"That's why we race".

"This is what the sport needs to have at every single race, and this is why I race, and what got me into racing in the beginning".

"Shame for the end result, but we leave Spain knowing that we can count on a vehicle that is solid and very quick", Arrivabene said. We both love racing.

Ricciardo admitted he got a bit lucky as he inherited third place from Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas after the Finn's engine expired.

Next race is the Monaco Grand Prix on May 28. He threw Bottas a dummy before taking to the grass on the 200mph run down to turn one and edging his way past for the lead of the race once more.
